Mr.Sounderrajan is a retired business person, who has bought 3 acres of land in 2017 and is trying to convert it into a organic farm for the past three years. This is a place called Madhanur. It is near Valathur, which is 30kms from Vellore.
He has about 150 sapota trees, which give about 3 tonnes of yield each year. This year due to good rains they are expecting slightly better yield.
He has only used organic waste decomposer, pancha kavya and other organic methods. He has cows, goats, rabbits etc and is trying to build a fully organic model farm there.
In the past two years, he had given the full contract (including plucking) to agents who paid him 22K and 38K respectively in each year for about 3.15 tonnes and 2.75 tonnes respectively.
They came five times and handled the plucking over a three month period with a gap of about 20 days between each plucking. In each visit, they took about 500 to 600kgs.
He is trying to see if we can handle this for him this year.
I have told him that I will give him an update within 24 hours.
