No direct selling of farmer produce as they burnt badly when they procured for 95rs a kg but the prices went down and could not sell for that. Hence FPO directors are hesitant to venture into anything where there is investment required.
Erode FPCL : Dr.Vadivel handles the accounts/gst filings etc for a annual cost of Rs.40K to 42K.
FPO revenue in 2016-17 was 3L. In 2017-18, it was 15L.
Seed cannot be sold - does not have certificate. So they buy seeds in wholesale and then distribute to farmers.
The villagers themselves go to Mannargudi Uzhavar Sandhai where items come from Ottanchatram and Kumbakonam.
The FPO themselves have two shops in Mannargudi Urpathiyaalar Uzhavar Kuzhu
Gets Rs.5000 rent and nothing more as they cannot sell their products there.
Gets side revenue by collecting crop insurance premium from farmers. Gets 3% for every 5000 collected.
Has also started becoming a dealer for Amul Cow Theevanam:
The FPO has a super market where they buy items from Salem and sell it here.
Will be open to trying out the Five Minutes model where the online shopping cart will be available in their super market for items not available in the market. The goods can be delivered to their super market and they will take care of distributing it.
Gets a salary of 23K. Is worried that it is too less.

Some of the popular masala products sold are
- Mailli thool
- Milage thool
- Manjal thool
These are produced on demand and sold. There are 32 masala products prepared by the FPO.
